Many Tribes #12228 is one of the earlier figurines from the Trail of Painted Ponies collection, and is made of ceramics rather than resin. Designed by Linda Hassett and made by Westland in the early 2000s, it was formally retired in July of 2008. The figurine itself measures approximately 6" tall, 7" long and 2 3/8" wide. The base is 5 1/2" long and 2 1/2" wide.
Pottery is one of the oldest art forms in the Native American culture, and each tribe has a style that is traditionally its own. Drawing on the diverse animal and geographic patterns found on many authentic pots, Linda has painted her Many Tribes Pony wrapped in the traditional and contemporary ceramic designs of many tribes.
This particular pony is number 1,850 from the 2nd edition. It comes with the original box, tag and packaging. The box was opened upon receipt to ensure everything was in top order and undamaged, but has been stored in a closet in a non-smoking household ever since.
