Danburite is a rare gemstone that has finally begun to increase in popularity. Because of its beautiful luster and hardness it has great gem properties is a suitable stone even for ring usage. It has only one "flaw": it is almost always colorless. For a few years it was used as a diamond simulant, but after the development of a number of synthetics (including cubic zirconia) it was neglected even for that purpose. Thankfully in recent years it has begun to gain popularity again, especially its beautiful and top durable crystals.
