This is a Gorgeous Emerald Green Oyster Plate made by Proceram, France. It is 9.25" with six beautiful shell shaped wells and one center sauce well. This plate was made in the 1950's and is marked on the back 55 for the year 1955. The Proceram Majolica Factory was in the town of Aubagne in the South of France near Marseille. It is no long in business. The factory only made this one pattern of Oyster Plate with the very distinct shell pattern.
This plate is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. There is some crazing to the glaze as well as stilt marks on the back and some original shade variations in the green glaze. Additionally, there is one little white dot in one of the shells top that is barely noticeable. Please see the pictures.
This plate is such a gorgeous color and the shells are so beautiful crafted and designed. It would make a lovely addition to any collectible plate wall or cabinet plate collection.
