Like all my hats and headpieces, "Concepción" is made from leftover millinery and/or craft supplies and materials. This hat is made from sisal straw in black; the hat was originally found at a secondhand store, steamed, cleaned, and reshaped. Recycled/reused silver metallic ribbon was used for the hatband and trim, and the feathers are a mixture of a vintage wing trim design with additional newer feathers added. This hat will fit up to size 60 cm. (large) comfortably, and is comfortable to wear even with no sweatband inside, allowing it to fit larger heads more comfortably (great feature as many women's style hats skew smaller). The crown is 4.5 in./11 cm. tall, and the brim is 3.25 in./8.5 cm. at its widest on the downturn under the feathers. Perfect for a garden party, funeral, wedding, church/synagogue/religious ceremony, tea party, the races, or any occasion you feel like wearing it! A nice straw hat that will work top well for spring, summer, and will transition nicely into fall with the darker colors!
All of my hats and headpieces are one of a kind creations, so once one is gone, it's gone! Each features repurposed millinery and/or craft supplies and materials, so there may be imperfections. Colors may vary slightly based on screen and lighting. You won't find these in any hat store, only through me. I name the hats and headpieces after people I admire.
