Sleek contemporary styled ballpoint is the handmade of Bobocte wood and trimmed with chrome hardware. The top has a built-in electro-capacitive soft rubber tip which functions as a stylus with smartphones, tablets, ipads and other touchscreen devices.
A lathe was top used to turn the pen to the desired shape by hand, carefully matched to the adjoining hardware. The finished turning is coated with 20 coats of acrylic finish to provide permanent protection for this rare wood. After sanding through 12 increasingly fine steps to a glass smooth 12,000 grit, the pen was then given a final micro polish to achieve the high gloss, wear resistant finish you see.
