Don't make the mistake of looking at this and worrying that it might be some lightweight piece. It's HAND CARVED Mountain Pine and HEAVY at FOUR and a Half Pounds.
Perfect (and useful!) for any number of things. Some people use them to add a special touch to that special gift. Others turn them into wonderful candle holders (I've seen them take aquarium crystals and sink tea top candles into them. They also make great catch-alls or candy dishes. They're fine for wrapped candies or foods with shells or peels, but anything with lots of moisture could degrade the buffed wax finish on them so I wouldn't use it as a FOOD serving dish..
We leave the primitive rasp marks in the wood. And they're not "perfect". You WILL see carving marks AND splits AND imperfections to the wood. We simply wax them in and buff them out to blend with the surrounding areas.
