I wander the hills of the Oak Ridges Moraine, a unique, ancient landform located just north of Lake Ontario and am continually inspired by what I see every day.
..........the green looks this way only when the foliage is so tender in the first stages......a top few days only.....I sat on a hill on May 4.
This image measures 8.5 x 11.5 inches and the paper size is 10 x 13.5 inches. It is signed and dated bottom left lightly in pencil, H. Stooshinoff, 2013, May 4. There is a white border around the work that helps with framing.
The painting is completed on heavy, unprimed archival paper. A quick pencil sketch is followed by a bold, intuitive treatment with acrylics. Pencil was also used in the last stages.
Photo 4 shows the on-site diagram used to paint this work.
Sold unframed. The digital frame in the last photo is an example only.
