**THIS LISTING INCLUDES:
• one stationary (faux) Roman valance (Primary fabric NOT included) fabricated to your window's measurements
• designed to be mounted on the OUTSIDE of your window frame
• valance will have 2-4 folds of fabric along the lower ~2/3 of the valance
• your choice of sateen, dimout, or blackout lining (up to $25 in materials)
• priority mail shipping (up to $30 in shipping fees)
• custom, trim, and oversized (window >40") options are available at additional cost

** FABRIC & TRIM SOURCES:
• choose from the selection in our Etsy shop, utilize our Custom Window Treatment Design Services (see links below), or provide your own
• for best results, we recommend cotton and cotton blended fabrics
• we only accept decorator fabrics which are at least 50" wide and tend to be dry clean only
• message us for our Fabric Selection Guidelines which give useful tips to design beautiful and unique custom window treatments


** HARDWARE OPTIONS:
• can be hung using an adjustable WIDE pocket rod, commonly available at home improvement stores, or a DECORATIVE rod. Keep in mind that rods for wider windows (wider than 40") will need to be heavy duty and/or will need extra support brackets.
• can be mounted be board mounted as a custom option


** VALANCE WIDTH, LENGTH & RETURNS
• WIDTH should extend 2-3" beyond both edges of your window frame. For example, if your window is 30" wide, you should specify the finished width to be 34-36". If you are placing your valance over panels, your valance will need to be wide enough to cover the panels.
• LENGTH will be according to your instructions, up to 36". Consider hanging your valance 8-10" higher than the window frame to give the illusion of a larger window & room.
• RETURNS (fabric that covers the end of the rod to the wall) will be ~3"

** LININGS:
• protect face fabrics from UV light, control sunwashing (when the light shining through the window distorts the fabric's colors or motifs), and add privacy, as well as a professional polished appearance
• SHEER treatments have no lining and provide minimal privacy. Ideal only when a very airy, translucent, unstructured look is desired.
• SATEEN lining provides more protection and moderate amounts of privacy, but sun washing is still a problem for prints and medium or dark colors of fabric. This is best when seeking a translucent treatment.
• BLACKOUT lining provides the most privacy. This lining blocks all light coming straight through the window, but some light bleed will occur around the edges of the treatment. We recommend blackout lining for situations where eliminating sunwashing and protecting the fabric's true colors are the priority.
• DIMOUT lining provides more protection from sunwashing (as compared to sateen), but without the "deadening" effect that blackout linings sometime have. This is a popular choice that gives projects the best of both options.
