Milkweed Pods top

Original oil painting, unframed. 6” x 6”. Depicts the moment when the silky seeds are ready to. burst forth from the pod and take flight. Collecting milk weed pods in the autumn a potent memory from my childhood in the Midwest. top I vividly remember gluing them on to cardboard in the shape of a Christmas tree, spray painting them gold and gluing tiny round Christmas ornaments in the hollow of the pod.
