Fremont, an explorer, frontiersman, Governor, and Senator. He is best known for exploring California and has an extremely complicated history due to his participation in actions against Native Americans.

This book has green boards with gilt lettering on the spine. The book was originally issued without a dust jacket. The book is in good condition for its age, with some moderate foxing and staining on the pages of the interior. There is some where on the spine in places, both in the book and on the boards. The book does not appear to be missing any pages. The book is from the 1850s so does have some age and wear.
