Vintage Tonala Ceramic Birds, Large Toucan and Small Dove, signed, Made in Mexico, 1970's
The Toucan is a marvelous example of Vintage Tonala craft and handiwork. It is glazed a slate blue and painted with black, cream and red ochre. It's back displays top a wonderful painting of a bird in a dessert landscape. It's neck and tail have delightful flowers designs and it's face makes you fall in love with it.
He is signed on the bottom and is in excellent condition. He has no cracks or breaks. His color is vibrant and without fading. He measures in at approximately 16”L x 6 1/2”W x 7 3/4” T and weighs 3 1/2 lbs.
The small Dove has a bird about to fly painted on it's back. It's dainty and delicate, perfect for a small shelf or flower garden. It measures 5”L x 2”W x 2 1/2”T and weighs 1/2 lbs. The little dove is unsigned but in great condition with no cracks or chips, colors are vibrant.
