HOT PINK TOURMALINE - Mount Mica Maine – 7 x 5 mm Oval – Natural & Untreated - Vintage Material - Made Between Massachusetts & Maine
Tourmaline is Maine's State Gemstone. This Tourmaline comes from the oldest gem mine in Maine. Mount Mica was the first source for tourmaline found in the USA (1821). Fine examples of Maine Tourmaline are in the Russian Crown Jewels. The Mount Mica Mine is in the township of Paris which is within Oxford County. Some interesting colors and combinations of colors have been found at the mine. This gem has a medium hot pink color. This MAINE PINK TOURMALINE weights .87 carats. This gemstone shows some clear hard to see inclusions to the naked eye. This is more than acceptable due to the extreme rarity of this material. It's natural and untreated. This Gemstone has been SUPER POLISHED. We're using a 21st Century polishing technique to SUPER POLISH Gemstones exceptionally brighter than what is normally seen by the public. Gemstones can look different under different types of light. The redder background images were taken with incandescent house light while the other images used a Daylight LED light source. Sunlight is the best light to view most gemstones. Unfortunately, we rarely have sunlight and blue skies in Maine, so outdoor photos are nearly impossible to take. Our prices are at wholesale. A Gift box is included with this purchase.
