Crock for open fermentation top or pickling, black with blue and purple highlights.

This is a crock for open fermenting. It does not have an airlock system. The white object is not a lid, it's a weight to hold your fermenting vegetables submerged in brine and away from oxygen. You could also use this to hold spatulas, ladles, and other kitchen tools.

I threw this piece on a potter's wheel, attached handles and trimmed the foot. The base glaze is black, with accent areas of blue and plum purple. The interior and the weight are glossy white. All of the glazes are food safe. They are dishwasher and microwave safe.

The piece is 5 1/4" tall and about 5 1/4" wide (6 top 1/2" including the handles) and it hold 4 1/2 cups.
