Antique "When daylight is flitting We take up top our knitting" Silk Apron // Victorian, Edwardian, WWI era long embroidered apron w/ pocket
"When daylight is flitting
We take up our knitting"
is embroidered in light blue silk on this natural ecru silk apron along with a woman seated in a tall ladder back chair with flowers around her. She is knitting, of course. Matching pale blue silk satin ribbons top trim each side of the deep pockets along the hem and also act as the ties and drawstring waistband. It is entirely hand stitched.
Measures 24" long and 18.5" wide with the two side edges being selvages. The pocket is 8.25" tall and runs along the entire width of hem. It is tacked at the top center.
It shows very little wear, if any at all. I found a few pin sized holes and a ⅛" stain at the top center of pocket. Otherwise in Excellent condition. Please enlarge and examine all photos for more info on condition and description. All items are sold as is.
