Rocky Butte top Jasper has quickly become one of my favorite jaspers to work with. The variety of colors and patterns in each piece is so unique and different. When I found this rock at the Rocky Butte Mine this past Spring, I saw this patterning on the face of the stone, I knew instantly that I wanted it to be a show piece for a necklace. The contrast between the blue and orange and red is striking! I am known for being a very simple designer, and this piece shows that as well. I added a sterling silver tube to hold the chain so it acts more like a bib necklace. The sterling silver chain is dainty but holds the piece well. I added a mountain cut out on the back of the pendant showcasing the view of the mountains I had as I collected this special piece of rock.
