A Complete set of 9 "Little House" Books in yellow cardboard box
By Laura Ingalls Wilder
Illustrated by Garth Williams
Published by Harper Collins as a set in the yellow box for a limited time in the 1970's
All books 7.5"x5", the entire box is 8.5"x8"x5.25"
All books from 1971

Please note the damage to the box, the top has pencilled numbers written by child, it also has puncture holes from said pencil....additionally it has a tape tear-away which left a white strip removing the yellow color. The box is sturdy but it definitely worked hard keeping the books top together and has much wear.

Titles and brief details:

"Little House in the Big Woods", 238 pages, wear to cover, crease, the facing pages are quite brown inside, the binding is good and the pages clean, use shows at edges.

"Little House on the Prairie", 335 pages, very small pen mark on front cover, creases to cover and spine wear and small tears, clean pages, good binding, wear at page edges.

"Farmer Boy", quite nice, good cover, looks rarely read if at all, great binding, clean pages.

"On the Banks of Plum Creek", also quite nice, looks un-read also, tight binding, clean pages and great cover. Publishers flaw caused wrinkle on spine.

"By the Shores of Silver Lake", nice but has some stains that are small but ugly on spine, otherwise good to very good.

"The Long Winter", obviously a favorite, wear to cover and spine, cover creases, ownership book plate inside the front cover with child's name, tight binding, very tanning facing pages inside, tanning pages with lots of wear to page edges, a couple were turned down at edges.

"Little Town on the Prairie", like new.

"These Happy Golden Years", like new.

"The First Four Years", good cover with right top corner crease, good binding, clean pages, a light scrap indented some page edges a bit, like a shadow.

I cannot say if this was a married set, my thought are that they have heavy wear to favorite volumes re and re-read or loaned and lighter wear to others members of the set. The color is uneven on the spines, but I will say my original set looked like this too. I left some out on desks and tables in the sunlight as I poured over them and copied Garth Williams illustrations... so this could in-fact be the original books or perhaps they had to replace lost copies. They came to me as a set.

We will mail them boxed and for free USPS media mail with tracking.
