Silhouette did not put the same amount of muscle behind their branding efforts as the likes of Dior and have not enjoyed the same level of status as a result. The upshot is that they have not received the credit they deserve for the designs they've made and model 126 is just one example. They have the atmosphere of the oversized feeling from the 70s but in fact are a normal sized round dimension, a simple idea to go against the tide but not every brand had the courage it takes to follow through.
But most importantly, they have light tone glass lenses that keep the eyes clearly visible. We are quick to remind that glass lenses are now a specialist product in todays market that's exponentially more expensive than plastics in exactly the same way as laminate vs wooden flooring/worktops etc.
