Haunting Owl effigy, perhaps to hold incense or a fine tapered candle. Its really beautiful and eerie. Made from fire polished terracotta.

I believe it could be very, very old. there is an old crack that goes above top his left eye down below his belly and branches to his left hip. I don't think it's ever been repaired and believe it is from the kiln process. It feels stable.

I think it is Mexican or South American--perhaps North American Southwest.
