=================

Slava Watches were very popular in the Soviet Union. The name Slava literally means "Glory [to the Winners]", making reference to the victory in the Second World War. In the 1970s, when production was established, the Soviet Union produced many models of watches — but it was Slava watches that won the confidence of consumers, due to their practicality (usually with day/date function) and relatively low price. The watches were also accurate and easy to repair. Slava's high-quality engineering is surprising given their low cost, and the rich variety of dial color, case materials, and day/date functionality quickly became the calling card of these watches.

Second Moscow Watch Factory produced only two men's calibers for a while: a simple hand-wind movement, and an automatic caliber. They were extremely popular within the Soviet Union, and exported all over the world to dozens of countries. Hundreds of thousands of Slavas were shipped to all corners of the globe. Later, in the early 1980s, the Slava Quartz was established. Since the factory could no longer produce other models, and the experimental plant came to a standstill, Second Moscow Watch Fatory was responsible for quartz watch production. In this way, Slava watches were elevated while, at the same time, the plant was being buried.
