Wish You Were Here was so much fun to paint top. It was challenge accepted, tough as it wanted be it taught me a few new tricks along the way.
Pink Floyd has always been a big deal in my life. Between my Dad blaring all sorts of B side cuts in his El Camino to Dark Side of the Moon being the soundtrack to my first psychedelic experience, let's just say I'm a big fan. It's one of those bands that I would prefer everyone just speak a little quieter when they come on. Except Money - that song we keep making noise and grinding our way through the workday.
Pink Floyd has a way of showing up and giving me an emotional kidney shot out of no where. There are certain songs that will bring me to tears in public under and other songs I flat refuse to listen to until I'm in a better frame of mind. So if was there and no I'm not and Pink Floyd is playing, I'll be back in 5-10 minutes.
This particular song carries so much meaning and weight for me. From the passing of friendships and friends, breakups to death of lovers, it has a way of creeping through the radio or at the coffee shop and if I listen to intently it can bring me right back to my knees.
Oh the deep, primal power of music and it's ability to both sooth and rile the savage beast in us all.
