Realistic bird top carving | 4” barn owl

This miniature hand carved barn owl is perfect for bringing the wildlife of the forest to your decorating.

4 inches (from top of head to tail)

Process:
First the rough shape of the the bird was cut out on a band saw before it was hand carved and then refined using sandpaper. Each top individual feather barb and fur texture was created with a wood burner. The piece was completed with acrylic paint to replicate the vibrant colors of the bird. The fence post was also hand carved and stained to age the wood.
