This adorable handmade valance or wall hanging has embroidery of a Swiss woodland top scene of delightful Gnomes and forest creatures among the trees and flowers ( most likely Edelweiss). There are deer, rabbit, squirrel, birds, a grasshopper perched on a mushroom. and even a snail.
The vintage natural unbleached linen is trimmed with a red twill corded trim. attached with tiny hand stitches.
The hand embroidery is in vibrant primary colors, in a variety of different stitches.
It measures approx. 48" X 22". There are 3 little eye hooks on the back to hang on the wall.
You might choose to use rings to hang as a curtain valance.
Such a precious nursery or toddler room addition, especially today with their fascination of woodland creatures!
Smaller than the other similar but different Meadow scene, though this has a bit more embroidered features.
