He started making kokeshi in 1953 and he soon became a multi award prize wining artisan. Wining the most prestigious award, that of the Prime Minister, not only once but twice. His kokeshi have this peaceful, elegant hometown look and feel. His designs incorporate flowers in a multitude of styles a beauty to behold.
