3D System top Cube Pro, Duo, Trio Aluminum Build Plate with Configurable Top (Garolite, GeckoTek, BuildTak)
USA MADE ground aluminum build plates made perfectly for your 3D Systems Cube Pro, Duo, or Trio. Order a plain bare plate or add a pre applied top for specific applications. It has the appropriate aluminum locator knob and 3 magnet pads on its underside so it is a perfect drop in replacement. The plate is made from precision ground tool plate top of either Mic6 or ATP-5. The top is ready to accept your choice of adhesion.
All the options below come pre-applied to the ground aluminum tool plate.
Garolite - This 1/32" thick topper is primarily used for Nylon. It offers the best adhesion and reusability. Use your build plate again and again to print any type of nylon and nylon blends such as glass fiber and carbon filled. It can also be lightly sanded to yeild even greater adhesion. We recommend using this with Elmer's Purple Glue Stick. If you print with nylon a lot, then you absolutely need this.
G10 Garolite - This is also a 1/32" thick topper and can be used for Nylon and PETG. Although it is primarily chosen for PETG. It has a more glossy finish unlike the standard Garolite option. It is the most wear resistant build plate surface we offer. It is like glass as far as durability. You can print 1000's of prints overtop the same area without degradation. We recommend using this with Elmer's Purple Glue Stick if printing Nylon. No adhesion glue is needed with PETG. If you print with PETG a lot, then you absolutely need this.
GeckoTek EZ-Stick Cold- This topper is good for a lot of different materials. We have found it to hold a extreme grip with Nylon and PETG but the coating wears off after a few prints in that area. Nylon wears the coating off faster than PETG. This is our go to for a one off print of a very high warping Nylon print. PETG prints also adhere really well but will also degrade the coating on the topper after a dozen prints or so. PLA it works very well for giving a glass like bottom without degrading the toppers coating. We recommend this if you're printing PLA. No adhesives glues are to be used with this at all regardless of the material. Please see GeckoTek's website for processing temperatures.
BuildTak - This is a good all around topper that can be used plain without adhesion glue or with your choice of adhesion glue for larger or higher warp prints.
Polypropylene (LayerLock by MatterHackers) - Works well for for printing PP with no adhesion glue. Has a very strong hold! High warping prints will pull the build plate up before it becomes detached from the surface. Therefore glue should be used on parts that have a large first layer. Large surface areas can become hard to remove and therefore the glue acts like a release agent. Magigoo PP is a good product to use with this surface.
