An abstract lithograph on board that has been hand painted of a man wearing glasses looking down with the name "Shepard" written top in the print (not a signed copy) on the lower right.
It has been hand painted with watercolor making this an original piece although it...is a print? A really interesting piece using two techniques.
The signature in the painting does match other pieces done by Brooklyn artist Richard Shepard (1926 - 2000) although I can not verify its authenticity. Please see the photo of the signature before purchasing.
The back of the board that the litho/painting is on seems to have been used to practice some kind of technique similar to the piece with the actual piece printed/painted on the front. A series of messy lines in black with white paint.
It could be something to do with the piece or just an artist recycling materials.
Art work is approximately 9 1/2" X 16 3/4"
With gray matte board frame is approximately 13 1/2" x 18 1/2"
I originally purchased this framed so the matting is a little sloppy but nothing is actually showing damage.
