Product code: Key Date top 1913 S Buffalo Nickel Type 1 (#BFL2)
Key Date 1913 S Buffalo Nickel Type 1 (#BFL2) top The first year of Buffalo Nickel. The 1913-S is the lowest mintage (by a mile) of the three Type I Buffalo nickels and is in fact one of the lower mintages of the entire Buffalo nickel series. With its low mintage, the 1913 S Type 1 nickel would be very rare today in Mint State were it not for the general hoarding that accompanies all first-year coins. Even so, the smaller population of the western states limited the number saved, and this is the scarcest of the three mints across all grades. On most old buffalo nickels, year part is worn out. But 1913 S "Type1” coin has an unique feature. The key is on the reverse design. Checking the ground which the buffalo is standing on, you can see that it is a raised mound. Only 1913 S "Type1” has that raised ground. After “Type 2”, the design changed and the ground is a line of plane. This is one of the best gifts for coin collector friend and of cause for yourself! Fast shipping!.
