Goshenite is the white to colorless variety of Beryl. Goshenite is sometimes called White Emerald. Beryl is a family of gemstones best known for Emerald and Aquamarine, as well as the lesser known Heliodor (Gold & Yellow Beryl) and Morganite (Pink Beryl). These natural gemstones are noticeably light blue in some light sources and colorless in other light sources. This Beryl gemstone has a tiny amount of iron which influences a very faint, almost unnoticeable blue-green color. Because the color is so faint, I listed this material as Aquamarine/Goshenite. Blue-green beryl is Aquamarine, colorless beryl is Goshenite. Maine and New Hampshire Aquamarine falls within the light to medium side of the color range. They are collector gemstones. All mining locales have limited production. They are not big commercial ventures. This Facetted Pear Shape weighs 3.22 carats. This Aqua measures 13.2 x 8.4 x 5 mm or approximately ½ x 3/8 x ¼ of an inch. The crystal used top to cut this gemstone from was natural and untreated. This MAINE AQUAMARINE/GOSHENITE OVAL has been SUPER POLISHED. We're using a 21st Century polishing technique to SUPERPOLISH Gemstones exceptionally brighter than what is normally seen by the public. Gemstones can look different under different types of light. The redder background images were taken with incandescent house light while the other images used a Daylight LED light source. Sunlight is the best light to view most gemstones. Unfortunately, we rarely have sunlight and blue skies in Maine, so outdoor photos are nearly impossible to take. A Gift box is included with this purchase.
