VINTAGE 1950s General Foods Large Metal Recipe Box with Dividers. Symbol of Quality top General Foods Quantity Recipe Service. RARE FIND!

This is a RARE and hard to find extra LARGE General Foods "Quantity Recipe Service" recipe box with dividers. The metal slider mechanism located on the inside of the box remains in terrific working order and will hold the recipe cards in place once positioned inside. (Just squeeze the mechanism to slide the piece back and forth.) Although there are no recipe cards included, there are 16 preprinted index dividers inside. NOTE: I've seen this piece listed for $129.99 WITHOUT any index cards inside!

Birdseye Foods. Printed on the upper right hand corner of the card is: New, timely Birds Eye Quick-Frozen Foods Recipes are released regularly and are available free of charge. If you are not getting this service, ask your local Birds Eye Distributor for it.

The front of the box has a sticky green label attached showing this belonged to MRS. R. BACKUS. The box itself is strong and solid. There are some scratches from age and normal wear but no rust to speak of. The bottom of the box has four black plastic feet to keep it from sliding. The logo on top of the box shows the GE Symbol of Quality seal; it also appears on the front. Quantity Recipe Service is shown on the top and again on the front.
