Circa 1910 Govancroft Pottery Glasgow Stoneware Foot Warmer
Salt-glazed stoneware foot warmer produced by Govancroft Pottery, Glasgow around 1910. Beautifully aged with original stoneware stopper and seal. It has a more "handmade" look than the Denby ones - more lumpy and bumpy. There are a few little divots that appear to have been made during production before glazing. A couple look as if they happen during use. There are also a couple small chips around the rim of the stopper. None are in places that would affect its functionality (a new stopper might be a good idea).
Dimensions: 9.25 in. long from base to top of handle; 4 in. high (5.25 inlc. stopper); 4 in. wide.
Weight: 3 pounds 3 ounces
* I do have a Denby one in my top shop as well, but I kind prefer this one as it has a more handmade pottery look. (Don't tell the Denby.)
