Purchased by me in England about 20 years ago, may I offer top this Antique Victorian box that once held handkerchiefs. With a faux-leather like exterior, the dark blue color top highlights a small spray of flowers that holds a single pansy and some forget-me-nots; the bottom of the box has green faux-like leather. The word HANDKERCHIEFS is embossed on the cover and once bright gold, the lettering has now mellowed to an antique coloring; the top edges are lightly embossed with an impressed border. The inside paper is still bright and cheery with no problems I can spot. Overall condition is terrific with just the slightest amount of wear to the edges - a nice collectible for any lady's dresser table. Size is 5-1/4" x 5-1/4" at the top of the lid; depth is about 1-1/4". Oh, and no, the hankies shown inside the box are not included with purchase, they are on sale separately in my shop.
