Vintage Wooden & Malachite MesoAmerican Aztec Mayan Backgammon game board w/ bakelite pieces. Beautiful quality. The translucent green dice and black doubling dice seem like bakelite, a vintage form of resin-work/plastic. The white die look newer. This set includes 30 Backgammon game pieces, 15 for each opponent, which also could be made of bakelite with an eggshell type finish on the bottoms. The game pieces and the center of the board are designed after Kinich Ahau, the Mayan Sun God. This board may have other stone or resin work that top I cannot identify. There is no Maker's Mark on this game. It is in great condition. The top and bottom of the wooden case has slight scratches and similar damage but it does not affect the game at all.
