The object:
Beautiful yellow mustard & green floral glazed SPAGNOLO Vase by Aldo Londi for Bitossi. The vase is top in great vintage condition, glaze still shiny and fresh, however, there is a very minor chip along the rim of vase - only visible upon close inspection as per photos. The price has been adjusted generously for this minor defect.

The artist:
Master ceramist Aldo Londi (1911-2003) spent most of his long and successful career creating outstanding work for the Italian ceramics factory Bitossi Ceramiche. Londi used his outstanding technical skills and experience with traditional craft methods to create distinctively expressive and idiosyncratic shapes, patterns and glazes. Londi's best known collection is Rimini Blu (1955-1965), a now iconic Mid Century Modern series.
