Antique Miniature Wood Compote, Pedestal top Bowl, Maple with Green Paint

This is a miniature compote top in maple with a beautifully turned base. The bowl is varnished, and the base was decorated with green paint, which does show wear. It is a great small size for display, and in the first photo it holds stone nuts. The finish on the interior is worn and there are small cracks where the wood dried out. I wonder if it was used for a master salt dish to have caused this. There are two small edge cracks, and the base has an old, glued repair where it cracked (see last three photos). The green would make it nice for a Christmas display.
