Antique Luncheon plate produced by Copeland Spode for Davis Collamore & Company, produced anywhere from the late 1800's to early 1900's. Hand-painted over the transfer pattern on white porcelain decorated with white mother horse and brown foal. A gold smooth band decorates the outer rim. The underside is marked SPODE COPLAND'S CHINA ENGLAND and Davis Collamore & Co. Ltd., FIFTH AVE & 48th ST NEW YORK, R3573 Davis & Collamore was a high-end NYC importer of porcelain and glass, headed by Davis Collamore. The firm commissioned designs from Copeland Spode and Thomas Minton Sons that featured hand-painted details over transfer-printed outlines and often rich gilding. Measures 9" across top Very minimal wear to the gold band, no chips or cracks, wonderful antique condition.
