A super top antique Diablo by F H Ayres Ltd of London. F.H. Ayres Established 1810 were best known for producing sports equipment and rocking horses. They produced an enormous number of parlour and garden games in the 1880s and were great rivals to Jacques. Towards the end of the 19th century were probably the leading manufacturer of games and sports equipment in Britain.
This lovely item is gorgeous as a piece of treen, made of boxwood it shines with a super patina. It also still comes complete with its circular bone insets.
Really sweet authentic antique toy, a fun indoor game, a table or desk top toy, or a charming decorative prop
