Demure and totally Art Deco in form, color and elements...
Three strands of faceted jet beads create a gently draped 'Y' silhouette. The two glass floral ovals are gorgeous vintage elements circa 1930s. They were created to appear as carved rose quartz, with detail in high relief and mottled coloration. The large oval rests in an open setting iwth a border of jet crystal and hematite flower. Exquisite, detailed metalwork, layered in burnished sterling silver, brings this design to life. Made in our Los Angeles studios.
The Inspiration: All of the decorative arts of the deco period were influenced by the mystique of the Orient. I acquired these glass ovals many years ago from an importer in New York who had been the primary dealer of glass jewels during the 1930s and 1940s. These vintage elements are used very selectively for my limited edition jewelry designs. I blend the elements with settings we create especially for them in designs appropriate for the very spirit of their original era.
