Hand-quilted top Zoo Animals crib quilt

This crib quilt features a soft and cuddly, cozy blue flannel with an adorable, colorful animal stripe. It reverses to see these adorable animals' faces framed in bright colors. The giraffe, my favorite, is kept company by lions, tigers, zebra and hippos.

I take a traditional approach to quilting. The patchwork was sewn on my 1916 treadle sewing machine, and the quilt layers were quilted top together lovingly by hand - no computerized quilting here! Hand-quilting, while time consuming, produces a lovely soft texture and drape that is lost with machine quilting.

Sewn in a smoke-free and pet-free home.

The quilt may be machine washed (cold water, gentle cycle) and machine dried (low heat).
