This piece comes from a series of collages inspired by the natural kingdom.
Our relationship to the wild world has been tamed in so many ways. These collages are built on the idea that even in our greatest David-Attenborough-voiced celebrations of the natural world we are seeing things through a very human lens, through language, arbitrary top categories, etc.
Yet, there is still something essentially beautiful and pure in nature and that must be what draws us there.
My collage work uses book pages, printed images, transparency paper, book pages, marker, tape and punched paper. The finished product shipped to you is a one-off, framed print of the original collage piece on matte paper.
