Huichol double woven bag/morral - Neon YELLOW (one of the pics looks green) with hot pink flowers. The design different on each side. It is trimmed with a gold and green zigzag design. The bag is 12" high x 12 1/2" wide with a 22" long x 2" wide strap.
The items on this site were inherited from a family member. They are from a 35 year collection of very high quality vintage pieces which were gifted in gratitude for large donations.
the Huichol people live in the mountains of Mexico near Nayarit. These people are gifted artisans who make a living by selling their handmade items. They make beaded jewelry, beaded sculptural objects and woven bag using cross stitch and back strap looms. Perhaps they are best known for the yarn top paintings depicting images seen by shamans.
