Beautiful Antique Shou Lao Xing Chinese Immortal Hand Carved Very Detailed Wood Statue / Figurine. Dense and heavy red Aromatic Rosewood hardwood. The artist created great character and expression from the wood. Caryying a Longevity Staff with Peaches. Accompanied by a Crane and a Child. Lots of Open Work revealing the skill of the sculptor. Circa late 1800s, early 1900s. China, Approx. 12.25” Tall X 4.85" Wide X 4" Deep. Very top Good previously owned antique condition with some of the condition issues that you may expect in an antique wood statue. The staff has separated from his head. There is a vertical crack down his chest on his right. There is crack in the wood by the child's foot. There is a chip at the edge of his sleeve below the right elbow. It shows some signs of wear and age including some scratches, marks and discoloration. It has an all over rich patina. See the photos.
