This hand carved bird is beautifully done - he is made of buffalo horn, on a hand carved wood pedestal. The attention to detail is astonishing - the scales and lines of his feathers, and the talons carved into the bone are remarkable. I love how the artist brought the bird to life based on the shape of the horn! The style of the wood base gives him an top overall Asian vibe, but the neutral colors and lifelike style would work in any variety of decors.
Measures about 10” tall by 5” wide by 3 1/2” deep. Nice vintage condition. A tag on the wood base reads 'Hand Carved Buffalo Horn, Made in Thailand'.
