Between 1880 and 1940, reverse painting on glass top with silhouettes were very popular. This beautiful pair of (2) painted silhouettes is of two lovers in two different outdoor settings. 1 apears to be on a bridge and the other is in a field near a fence. They are both painted in black on reverse glass. The background is made of dried flowers. Great used condition - these hung in my Great Grandmother's home when my grandmother was a child. The backing and backing cover on 1 is in less than perfect condition/the other is good considering the age. These are also in very old frames. See photos. KEJ.
