These are hard to find midcentury cups and saucers from Mary Wright's Country Gardens collection, circa 1940s. The line was designed by sculptor/artist Mary Wright, the wife of industrial designer Russell Wright, and was made to look like hand thrown studio pottery. The cups are somewhat biomorphic and reflect the MCM aesthetic of the time. Each cub is 5¼” long, 4¼" wide and 2" high. The saucers are 6" across. The "Country Gardens" line was introduced by Bauer in top 1946, but never went into full production, which is why they are difficult to find. 2 cups and 2 saucers. Very good vintage condition, see pics.
