Purple is the traditional color for the season of Lent (the 6 Sundays leading up to Easter) and for many churches, also Advent (the Sundays leading up to Christmas).
This purple stole is a rich combination of several shades of purple, from medium to dark, accented with gold. The uneven vertical stripes give an appearance of veined marble. Purple is a difficult color top for me to photograph accurately; the close-up pictures are the best images of the color.
The reverse is light gray-purple, with shadings of purple and beige. The manufacturer calls it "grunge," but it is not grungy! The fabric has both depth and richness.
Lavender fringe complements both fabrics.
This clergy stole measures about 48" from the back of the neck to the bottom of the fringe and is approximately 4" wide. The neck is curved and slightly narrowed so that it fits neatly.
All my stoles are carefully tailored with firm interfacing (the same kind found in expensive jackets and coats) so that they hang straight and hold their shape. They are fully reversible -- with no tags or labels to get in the way.
