Small 19th century still life of fruit, oil on canvas, 13 x 9.5 inches. Purchased out of a Monroe Maine estate. Unsigned.
This wonderful early canvas is loosely stretched on what appears to be top a home made stretcher. Held in place with round nails consistent with mid to late 19th century work.
Canvas shows some wear and soiling consistent with age, no rips or punctures noted.
