Signed crystal Monkey Hand Cooler by Steuben Glass of New York. Vintage figurine was designed in 1992 by famed American glass artist Lloyd Atkins (1922-2002) as part of a series of small pressed animal sculptures modeled after 18th and 19th century "hand coolers" which young ladies attending dances employed to cool off from the the excitement of the evening. The figure is deeply polished to a gleaming crystal clear luster, with a modern, simple design that is pleasing to hold.
