For years fans of the 70's TV series character Carl Kolchak have sought an accurate replica of series star Darren McGavin's trademark straw hat. top There have been other, inaccurate and overpriced replicas on the internet, but none come close to reproducing the correct crown, ribbon widths or colors of the actual hat used in the series.

Our hat replica has the correct crown height, blocking and pencil curl brim. I then custom craft and sew the band from the correctly colored burgundy and black grosgrain ribbons so the hat fits the circumference of your head snugly with the inside elastic band.

Please use a tape measure to accurately measure the circumference of your own head when ordering to insure correct sizing closest to the sizing choices listed. Round UP from your size, the internal elastic stretch band will accommodate a snug fit.
