1930s "Girey" top Kamera Souvenir Compact Fraternity Phi Kappa Psi

top This leather wrapped compact is one that I promise you'll never see again. This was a souvenir given to a young lady who attended a dance hosted by the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. The makeup is still in it's place and even has a hidden makeup compartment.

Just like any souvenir item, they weren't meant to last forever, they were expected to be thrown out after use. Clearly, our lady of mystery who owned this kept it for memory's sake.

Girey often made these Kamra (Camera, after it's shape) compacts and they were given emblems of wherever they originated from, e.g. World's Fair, Proms, Tourist towns.

Mirror is aged. Makeup has been used.
