This amazing textile is a vintage French work apron dating from the 1920s. This apron is made of a heavyweight cotton and has a lovely consistent faded indigo tone! top The textile feels very smooth despite the sturdiness of the fabric, denim-like. This item is stained as pictured, but is in otherwise great shape, ideal for a timeworn or artist's apron! There is a bib with a halter neck for comfortable wear. There are also ties at the waist to ensure the item fits well. The real winner on this apron is the very large pocket on the front, separated into two sections, ideal for holding cooking tools, paintbrushes, or more! Uniquely, this pocket sits closer to the waist than the chest, so it can act as a sort of tool belt if you so desire! Beautiful for daily use or hanging for decorative touch to any interior. A true textile treasure, ideal for any collection!

CONDITION: This lovely textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. The ties are sewn in strongly, but the tie material is thin and the left sided waist tie is beginning to tear in some places and could be replaced if you wanted something sturdier. There is a small pea-sized hole on the left side of this textile. There is also some significant staining including a large dark mark on the left side of the chest and a large brownish set of markings towards the bottom right, as well as additional staining across the front of this piece (please view photos). Condition reflected in price. There is some fading to the indigo tone, but overall a lovely apron in sturdy usable condition. This textile is in wonderful condition for its age and use, however it is not without signs of time and use, inherent in antique textiles. I just love this!
