Weiss Peacock Blue Hairpins Hair Jewelry Vintage 1950 AB Rhinestone Bridal Decorative Bobby Pins
These AMAZINGLY exquisite hair pins have been created from a pair of elegant very RARE and sought after Weiss earrings.
I originally created a line of these for a custom bridal party and this was the pair I was keeping for myself.
These beauties were manufactured in Austria and have a brilliant shine, typical of Weiss quality. All stones are original and intact. These bobbies are a teal blue and all original AB Aurora Borealis faceted rhinestones and a large freshwater Mobe pearl. (Alterations include the removal of the ear clip to create these hair adornments.) These artisan designed beauties are to die for!
They measure 1 1/2" in diameter and are absolutely spectacular in! With six larger stones and eleven smaller stones, the fiery brilliance when worn is magnificent!
More Info on Weiss ~
Albert Weiss, a former employee of Coro, opened his own business in the 1940's. "Jewels by Albert Weiss" was used on jewelry carding and in advertising top. Mr. Weiss did not manufacture his own designs but instead bought designs from various "jobbers", including Holly Craft, which accounts for the wide variety of styles that jewelry with the Weiss signature encompasses. Some pieces emulate the Eisenberg style, using the paved swirls and even the keyhole clasp that Eisenberg used. The best pieces of Weiss including his well-known "Black Diamond" line and pieces that use combinations of vibrant, deep colors, the hinged thermoplastic clampers, as well as the arum rhinestone and clear rhinestone "Ice" pieces.I started creating clips because as a teacher, I seem to always have my hair up and just because I had to be practical, didn't been I couldn't be in style. Hey, what more can you ask, jeans, a t-shirt and spectacular accessories. Stunning for any occasion.
Please note that these hairpins are made with vintage jewelry and should be treated as such. Even though I use Jewelers epoxy to adhere the bobby pin, tossing them in a drawer may result in breakage. (Due to the nature of metal used in vintage, soldering is not an option.) if cared for properly, these bobbies will stay intact for your pleasure.
